Sundstrand Sauer Danfoss Series 40 EDC Control Pump Flow

The EDC control outputs flow in alignment to a DC electrical command signal. The controls are made for situations where a remote or automatic control of a system function is needed. Without the signal it will return to a neutral position.
Here are some benefits for this control:

With the EDC can give you a greater control with only a small thrust to the input current, can make the servo valve go in full open position. This will make the highest level of flow go to the servo cylinder.

When the PCP valve case has oil put in it, it prolongs the life by not letting moisture go in and lessening the component vibration.

The EDC flow on the internal mechanics will not allow the servo valve to let in fast paced changes to the input signal voltages without harming the control mechanism.

If the parts are factory and are to the precise OEM specs it will give you the same outcome of displacement settings with the same input signal time after time.

Then the input signal current is not present, the servo pistons (both ends) are drained back into the case. The servo piston is joined to a spring centering mechanism.
