Today we will discuss:

Sundstrand Sauer Danfoss Series 20 – Heat Exchanger & Case Drain
The motor and pump need a case drain to let out hot fluid from the system. The motor will be drained from its topmost drain port to make sure the case stays full of fluid. The motor case drain is then hooked up to the lower drain port on the pump housing and out the upper port.

A heat exchanger that has a bypass valve, needs to cool the case drain fluid before it comes back to the reservoir.
Note: case pressure doesn’t need to get over 40 PSIG
