Sundstrand Sauer Danfoss Series 15 Variable Displacement Pump
The manual control on a variable displacement pump is attached directly to the tiltable swashplate, so the operator can move the control so that the swashplate can be slanted at such an angle the fluid flow can circulate thru the pump. The fluid goes into the fixed displacement motor and then pressure builds up so that it allows the motor output shaft to starts to rotate.
The speed that the output shaft turn is relative to the position of the control lever and is variably within zero and the highest speed. The path of the rotation of the output shaft lies on the position of the control lever in proportion to the neutral position of either forward or reverse.
