Uses for T-Seals
Posted by Tammy Soper on
A T-Seal is a replacement for other seal kits or packing (standard grooves). They fit into the same grooves as orings and they don’t roll or spiral. It will be functioning under longer strokes or dry rod situations. There other characteristics for having these types of seals, it will not wedge into clearances or pinch off when in motion or pressure. It also also has low pressure sealing properties. The t-seal has a backup on each side of the sealing areas and it works well in double acting situations. Like some other packings, the t-seal is consolidated to get rid...

Installation of V Seals

The seals come in all kinds of sizes, stacking heights and composites to fill all different kinds of applications. They are multiply lip seals that are made up of large number of rings, that seal rods and pistons. The vee seal is made up of homogeneous and fabric that is a strengthened composite to assist in different pressures and mediums. When making your selection of fabric it should be on this criteria, your operating pressure, temperature and type of air or fluid medium to figure out the right combo to make the seals function correctly. These seals as mentioned before...
Vee Seals – Correct and Incorrect Features of Packing Seals

Seals need to be made to have options in clearances if your going over or thru threaded surfaces or sharp projections. The clearance level needs to be made for the least amount tolerance in order for it to do it’s job. For every one thousandth of an inch that is added to the clearance that goes between the seal and the surface that it is sealing takes away the survival of the packing. The correct schematic is vitally important when you are using sets of seals on the piston of double acting cylinder. Like in Dia. 1 where you have...
Directional Control Valves

These valves have inner workings that are connected and disconnected by a movable part, a spool. Spool valves are the most common kind. The valve has a pump passage, tank passage and two actuator passages, known as a four way valve. It’s purpose is to make a reverse motion of a cylinder or hydraulic motor. To make this happen the spool needs to make the spool have the flow go from the pump passage to the one actuator passage when it is in intense position. And at the same time, the spool is situated in a way that the other...
