Vickers Hydraulic Units – Pressure Feeds

The inner vane workmanship gives a way of controlling the outward thrust of the vane countering the ring situates the tip loads within an acceptable limits. In the inner vane cartridge, a full system pressure is repeatedly put on only to the area between the vane and insert. The area is little and the thrust is comparably light. Amidst vane travel thru pressure areas, full system pressure is put up against the bottom area of the out vane.

The valving of pressure to and from the bottom area of the vane is thru holes drilled in the rotor. This particular operational  pressure controls substantially the same radial hydraulic balance in all assessments.

Vane tip wear is just an automatic given. When the vanes wear down, the pressure will take the vane further out the rotor slot maintaining the vane tip upon the cam ring.
