Two Position – Three Way Float Position Valve
Posted by Tammy Soper on
Valve float is an adverse condition which can occur at high engine speeds when the poppet valve in an internal combustion engine valve train do not properly follow the closure phase of the cam lobe profile. This reduces engine efficiency and performance. There is also a significant risk of severe engine damage due to valve spring damage and/or pistons contacting the valves
These valves are used in conjunction with 4 way, 3 position valves to give a float or roving position. The application that these valves are best suited for are on snow plows, loaders, winches and equipment that have applications that need different functions that have a cylinder that floats. Hydraulic circuit that is operated needs to have in mind before you decide on the amount of pressure that is needed.
