Sundstrand Sauer Danfoss Series 40 – Swashplate Journal Bearings
This affects M46 variable pump, variable motor and tandem pumps.
Sauer is changing the way the bearings are rested in place on the front cover of the variable units. This change is for easier assembling and the bearings are positioned in with a flanged pin to the front cover.
The hole in the bearing is bigger, as well as the OD of the pin. The new bearing can be used with old pin when you need to make repairs.
But as you need to make future repairs or replacements…the old parts will no longer be available.
When installing the bearings and pins, put the pin thru the hole in the bearing from the running surface side. You will need to get a hammer and punch to seat the pin into the hole. Making sure the head of the pin is below the surface of the bearing material to guarantee the pin will not score the Swashplate mating surface.
