Sundstrand Sauer Danfoss Series 20 Cylinder Block Procedures

On this particular cylinder block you can see that the bores and port face is clear from nicks, burrs and scratches. The block’s face needs to be flat to seal it against the bearing plate. And the bronze cylinder bore bushing cannot be loose at all.

This picture shows a pulled bushing. The pistons have been contaminated, overuse or lack of lubrication. Also the bore bushings cannot be replaced. When it is like this,it is not replaceable…needs to thrown away. And a new one put in.

When you see a block like this, it generally means the unit was under excessive pressure or shaft misalignment. This too will have to be thrown away and a new block bought.
