John Deere 755B Crawler Fuel Injection Pump
If your injection pump drive gear has to be replaced, you will need to make sure there is exact engine timing.
The pump drive gear needs to be held against the front plate, put pump shaft (A) and index pin (B) in alignment with pump drive gear slot.
The shaft roll pin could easily be damaged due to the drive gear is tightened when it is assembled wrong. The pump drive gear shouldn’t move when you put in the pump index pin into the slot.
Next put in the injection pump half way onto the mounting studs (D) without putting the pump housing pilot (C) in to the engine front plate.
If you get a bit of fight back on putting in the pump, take it back out and check the shaft index pin to drive gear key slot alignment. Adjust it and try again.
If you tighten the nuts on mounting studs you could damage your shaft index pin.
Put washers (E) & (F) nut (G) back on. Tighten about 3 turns.
