Definitions of Lubricants in High and Low Temperatures Your lighter oils are mainly used when there is high speed and lower temp processes. The heavier oil are used for slower speeds and higher temp processes. The viscosity of the oil thickens in lower temperatures and in the higher temperatures it decreases the viscoity. Flash point in a lubricant is when the temperature that is needed to heat it up to the point when it vapors or steams and it will flash into the flame. When it is this way, the heat is not enough to burn of the vapor that...

Sundstrand Sauer Danfoss Hydraulic Series 20 Motor – How it Works

Posted by Tammy Soper on

At our Hydrostatic Pump Repair Site, we offer many types of Hydrostatic Transmission Repair and information relating to Hydrostatic PartsToday we will discuss: Sundstrand Sauer Danfoss Series 20 Hydrostatic Transmission The hydrostatic transmission make up is a variable displacement pump that is fastened by a hydraulic lines to either a fixed or variable displacement motor. The pump rotates in one direction and needs a change of internal parts to go in the opposite direction. The motor go in either direction. The machine control could be processed with a single operator control which gives smooth, step-less speed and direction changes. Putting...

Natural Lubrication for Machinery There are several types of natural lubrication out there, splash or bath/ring oilers. In these types of oilers part of the machine is used as a sump pump. The sump pump makes sure it stays at a certain level while parts pass thru almost down in there. When parts go thru the system it takes it to spots on the unit that do need lubrication. If you are having problems and need to ask more questions about this process. Give us a call at800-361-0068sales@hydrostatic-transmission.com

Different Types of Pressure Lubrication

Posted by Tammy Soper on

Different Types of Pressure Lubrication The most widely used is pressure circulating lubricating systems. It uses the lower section of the equipment as a sump pump, called a wet sump. It is taken out of the sump by means of an internal or external oil pump that is pressurized. It then takes the oil different locations on the machine where oil is needed. The means by which it does this is by external piping or internal drilled oil passages, or it could use both methods. Another method used is the dry sump it doesn’t require an oil pump. You use...
